Crude production at Kazakhstan’s Tengiz revealed for 1Q2021

Crude production at Kazakhstan’s Tengiz oil and gas field was 6.7 million metric tons (53.2 million barrels) in 1Q2021, Trend reports citing the field operating company – Tengizchevroil (TCO).

TCO’s gas utilization rate for in 1Q2021 was 98.5 percent, the company said.

The field operator added that the total water reuse rate in 1Q2021 was 48.3 percent. TCO continues its water conservation efforts by recycling domestic wastewater effluent, as well as treating and reusing it for industrial purposes.

TCO sends more than 35 types of waste for recycling. In 1Q 2021, the total TCO’s waste reuse/recycling rate was 32 percent.

The company sold over 384,000 metric tons of LPG, 1.8 billion cubic meters of sales gas, and over 600,000 tons of sulfur in 1Q2021,.

For the stated period, direct payments to the Republic of Kazakhstan totaled $1.6 billion.

In 1Q2021, TCO spent $778 million on Kazakhstani goods and services, including $526 million for Future Growth Project – Wellhead Pressure Management Project (FGP-WPMP).

In 1993, Tengizchevroil LLP was established on the basis of an agreement between Kazakhstan and Chevron. The company operates the Tengiz oil field in Kazakhstan.

The Tengiz oil field was discovered in 1979 and is one of the biggest and deepest oil fields in the world. The total explored reserves of Tengiz reach 3.2 billion tons, while recoverable reserves range from 890 million tons to 1.37 billion tons.
