Kazakhstan boosts petroleum oil exports to Romania despite COVID-19

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 10

Kazakhstan has exported 263,147 tons of crude petroleum oil and oil obtained from bituminous minerals worth 100.1 million euros to Lithuania in February 2021, a Eurostat official told Trend.

In turn, Kazakhstan’s exported 608,533 tons of petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals worth 212.2 million euros to Romania from Jan. through Feb. 2021.

Thus, the February volume of petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals from Kazakhstan to Lithuania is 23.8 percent less more than in volume compared to January 2021 (345,385 tons) and is 2.6 times more than in January 2020 (98,061 tons).

February export value is also 10.6 percent less than in January 2021 (112.1 million euros) and is 2.01 times more than in January 2020 (49.6 million euros).

The value of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Romania amounted to $179.8 million from January through February 2021, compared to $318.6 million during the same period of 2020.

Kazakhstan’s export to Romania amounted to $172.3 million from January through February 2021, compared to $307.4 million during the same period of 2020.

In turn, Kazakhstan’s imports from Romania amounted to nearly $7.5 million over the reporting period, compared to $11.2 million during the same period of 2020.
