Kazakhstan has extracted 46.1 million tons of coal over the period from January through May 2021, which is 0.4 percent less than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
The report said that the volume of coal extracted in May 2021 stood at 8.5 million tons, which in turn is 3.6 percent less than in May 2020.
Furthermore, crude oil extraction including gas condensate was 30.1 million tons during the reporting period, which is 8.6 percent less as compared to the volume extracted during the same period of 2020. Kazakhstan’s May oil output was 6.2 million tons, which also is 2.1 percent more than during the same month of 2020.
Kazakhstan also extracted 22.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas during the reporting period of 2021 and 4.6 billion cubic meters in May, which is 8.2 and 0.4 percent less year-on-year.
Fuel oil manufacturing volume stood at 1.1 million tons and 158,300 tons during the reporting period and May 2021 respectively, which is 29.7 percent more and 12.1 percent more than during the same period of 2020.
Kerosene manufacturing amounted to 205,100 tons over five months (up by 15.7 percent) and 36,800 tons in May 2021 (up by 43.2 percent), whereas diesel manufacturing equaled 1.9 million tons over five months (up by 5.4 percent) and 367,200 tons in May 2021 (up by 6.5 percent).
Hydrocarbon liquefied gases output was 456,000 tons over five months of 2021 with an annual decrease of 12.3 percent, whereas May output was 99,600 tons (up by 23.3 percent annual).
Electricity generation over four months of 2021 equaled 48.8 billion kWh, which is 5.5 percent more than in 2020, whereas the volume of electricity generated in May 2021 amounted to 8.7 billion kWh, which is 9 percent more year-on-year.
The volume of thermal energy generated from January through May 2021 amounted to 46.3 million Gcal with an annual increase of 11.6 percent, whereas May 2021 output was 3.6 million Gcal, which is 16.3 percent more than in May 2020.
