Ukraine is asking to increase supplies of Kazakh oil, Kazakhstan's Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov said, Trend reports citing his Facebook page.
Sultanov made the statement following his official visit to Kyiv.
According to the minister, by increasing supplies of only 70 commodity items, Kazakhstan will be able to increase exports to Ukraine by almost $350 million.
"The potential volume of increasing the production of petrochemicals, for example, will give an additional $163 million, metallurgy - $92 million, etc.," the minister said.
Sultanov also said that Ukraine is ready to expand cooperation in the energy sector, including nuclear and green energy.
"But at the same, time Kyivis asking to increase supplies of Kazakh oil to Ukraine and increase its transit through Ukrainian territory to the EU," he said.
