SOCAR reduces LPG supplies to Ukraine

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 7

The Ukrainian subsidiary of the Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR supplies 24,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to Ukraine from January through June 2021, which is 11,200 tons less than in the same period last year, Trend reports citing to the Ukrainian media.

From January through June 2020, SOCAR's LPG imports to Ukraine amounted to 27,000 tons.

In general, in the first half of 2021, 728,000 tons of liquefied gas were imported to Ukraine, which is 2 percent less compared to the same period in 2020.

Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR’s representative office opened in Ukraine in 2008.

The company acquired about 20 Tala-Nafta filling stations in Odessa and Nikolaev regions. as well as Svitanok large oil depot in Odessa region in 2009.

The company took control of the fuelling networks ONIO (four filling stations in Kyiv and the region) and GFC (in Lviv region) in 2010-2011. SOCAR received permission from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to purchase 26 filling stations and one tank farm of the Kalina group in August 2012.
