Azerbaijan reveals volume of electricity export to Georgia

Azerbaijan exported more than 500 million kilowatt-hours of electricity to Georgia from January to July 2021, the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry told Trend on Aug.18.

According to the ministry, during the specified period, the production of electricity in Azerbaijan amounted to 15.845 billion kilowatt-hours.

At the same time, the export of electricity amounted to 822.4 million kilowatt-hours, which is a growth of 94.2 million kilowatt-hours year on year.

Electricity imports in the first seven months of 2021 amounted to 100.1 million kilowatt-hours.

"Azerbaijan exported 504.9 million kilowatt-hours of electricity to Georgia, 152.3 million kilowatt-hours to Iran, 109.1 million kilowatt-hours to Turkey, and 56.1 million kilowatt-hours to Russia," the ministry said.

From January to July, the production of electricity by Azerenergy OJSC amounted to over 14.2 billion kilowatt-hours, including thermal power plants - 13.4 billion kilowatt-hours, and wind power plants - 41 million kilowatt-hours.
