Electricity generation of Iran’s Rey TPP booming

The volume of electricity generated by the Rey Thermal Power Plant in Tehran Province of Iran increased by 7 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, the Executive Director of Rey Power Generation Management Company Hamid Badorestani said, Trend reports citing Iran’s Thermal Power Plants Holding Company’s website.

Badorestani stressed that the Rey TPP generated about 1.3 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity within the mentioned period.

The director general added that of this, about 1.28 billion kilowatt-hours have been supplied to Iran's electricity network.

“Currently, all units of Rey TPP are in good condition and generate electricity based on the country's electricity needs,” he noted.

Reportedly, Iran's Rey Thermal Power Plant has a total of 29 gas turbines and the generation capacity of this power plant is 979.4 megawatt hours.
