TEHRAN, Iran, Sept. 3

Trend:

Hopefully, Iran won't be facing any gas-related challenges in the coming winter, by extracting enough gas, Iran's Oil Minister Jawad Owji said, Trend reports via Tasnim News Agency.

He made the remarks during his visit to the Assaluyeh city, as his first official trip.

Owji attended a meeting with oil industry managers of the Pars Energy Special Economic Zone.

The Assaluyeh gas extraction and supply status in the coming winter were discussed during the meeting.

Owji went on to call Assaluyeh 'an energy hub of Iran', and the provider of 70 percent of the country's gas.

The minister expressed hope that according to the plan, it would be possible to spend winter without any challenges, by extracting maximum gas from the South Pars joint gas field (with Qatar).
