Azerbaijan exported about 2.15 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Georgia from January through August 2021, Trend reports citing the report of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.
According to the committee, in value terms, the export of Azerbaijani gas to Georgia during the reporting period approached $268.5 million.
“Over the mentioned period, Azerbaijan in total exported over 13.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which is 47.21 percent or 4.24 billion cubic meters more compared to the same period of last year. In value terms, gas exports exceeded $2.35 billion, which is 38 percent or $647.5 million more than a year earlier,” the report said.
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover in the first 8 months of 2021 exceeded $20.2 billion, which is 18.3 percent or $3.71 billion more compared to the first 8 months of last year.
“In the structure of foreign trade turnover, exports made up $12.9 billion, a growth of 30.9 percent or $3.05 billion on annual basis. The share of exports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 63.77 percent,” added the report.
At the same time, Azerbaijan's imports amounted to about $7.35 billion, an increase of 9.8 percent or $659 million in annual terms. The share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 36.23 percent.
The foreign trade balance, while remaining positive, increased on annual basis by 42.8 percent, or $2.39 billion, to $5.58 billion.
