Turkish, Saudi Arabian and Netherlands companies will commission 10 thermal power plants (TPP) in Uzbekistan by 2024, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.
In particular, two TPPs with a capacity of 1,720 MW will be commissioned in the Syrdarya region by 2023.
These include a 220 MW TPP in the city of Yangiyer, which will be commissioned by Cengiz Enerji (Turkey) in September 2022, and a 1,500 MW TPP in the city of Shirin, which will be commissioned by ACWA Power (Saudi Arabia) in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Moreover, 3 TPPs with a total capacity of 710 MW will be commissioned in Kibray district of Tashkent region in 2021-2022: TPP with a capacity of 240 MW by Aksa Enerji (Turkey) at the end of the fourth quarter of 2021; TPP with a capacity of 230 MW by Aksa Enerji in December 2021; TPP with a capacity of 240 MW by Cengiz Energy in December 2021.
Aksa Enerji will launch a 270 MW TPP in the Bukhara region in December 2021.
Furthermore, in December 2021, Odas Enerji (Turkey) will commission a TPP with a capacity of 174 MW in the Yangiarik district of the Khorezm region.
In addition, a TPP with a capacity of 1,560 MW in the Angora district of the Surkhandarya region will be commissioned by Stone City Energy (Netherlands) in December 2024.
