MOL Group reduces production at Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb.18

Hungarian MOL Group’s production from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block of oil and gas fields in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea was 17,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in the fiscal year of 2021, as compared to 17,800 barrels of oil equivalent per day in the fiscal year of 2020, Trend reports citing MOL Group.

As such, the company’s production dropped by around 4.49 percent year-on-year.

The company produced 14,600 barrels of oil equivalent per day in the fourth quarter of 2021, as compared to 15,500 barrels of oil equivalent per day in Q3, showing a 5.8 percent decrease quarter-on-quarter.

Total Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli production for 2021 was on average about 458,000 barrels per day (b/d), as compared to 477,000 barrels per day in 2020. As such, ACG production dropped by 3.98 percent year-on-year.

BP Exploration (Caspian Sea) Limited is the operator on behalf of the Contractor Parties to the ACG Production Sharing Agreement.

ACG participating interests are: bp (30.37%), SOCAR (25.0%), MOL (9.57%), INPEX (9.31%), Equinor (7.27%), ExxonMobil (6.79%), TPAO (5.73%), ITOCHU (3.65%), ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL) (2.31%).
