Iran shares data on electricity generation of country’s biggest thermal power plant

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 22

The electricity generation of the Ramin Thermal Power Plant in the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) amounted to 8.8 million megawatt-hours, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through February 19, 2022), Executive Director of Ramin TPP, Khalil Mohammadi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.

The director noted that in recent months, the operation of the power plant’s 3rd unit has been suspended for repairs. Meanwhile, the remaining units will be repaired in the 12th month of the current Iranian (February 20 through March 20, 2022).

The director also added that the Ramin TPP generated an average of 231 megawatt-hours of electricity in 11 months.

Iran's Ramin Thermal Power Plant is considered the largest TPP in Iran. This thermal power plant has 6 steam units each capacity of 315 megawatt-hours. The power plant can generate a total of 1,850 megawatt-hours of electricity.
