The construction of a new Azeri Central East (ACE) platform on the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block is nearing completion, Deputy Vice-President of the Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR for personnel and information technologies, spokesperson for the company Ibrahim Ahmadov wrote on Facebook, Trend reports.
Ahmadov noted that AZFEN and Bos Shelf are building the upper part of the giant platform and the supporting block.
"This platform will make an important contribution to the stabilization of oil production in our country," he added.
bp earlier said that all engineering, procurement and fabrication works remain on track to support first production from the ACE project in 2023.
BP Exploration (Caspian Sea) Limited is the operator on behalf of the Contractor Parties to the ACG Production Sharing Agreement.
ACG participating interests are: bp (30.37%), SOCAR (25.0%), MOL (9.57%), INPEX (9.31%), Equinor (7.27%), ExxonMobil (6.79%), TPAO (5.73%), ITOCHU (3.65%), ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL) (2.31%).
