Turkey almost doubles crude oil imports from Kazakhstan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 25

Turkey has imported a total of 569,622 tons of crude oil in December 2021 from Kazakhstan, which accounted for 14.14 percent of total Turkey’s crude oil imports for the month, Trend reports citing Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

Thus, Turkey’s import of Kazakh crude oil increased by 96.7 percent compared to January 2021 (289,589 tons) and by 70.2 percent compared to the volume imported in November 2020 (334,521 tons).

Turkey’s import of crude oil from Kazakhstan from January through November 2021 amounted to 4.5 million tons.

The value of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkey amounted to $4.1 billion from January through December 2021, compared to $3.08 billion during the same period of 2020.

Kazakhstan’s exports to Turkey amounted to $2.9 billion in 2021, compared to $2.1 billion during the same period of 2020.

In turn, Kazakhstan’s imports from Turkey amounted to nearly $1.1 billion over the reporting period, compared to $950.9 million during the same period of 2020.
