BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 24. The 4th gas unit of the ‘Iran LNG’ thermal power plant in the Bushehr Province (southern Iran) was launched on May 24, 2022, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.

According to the report, the unit has the capacity to generate 160 megawatt hours of electricity.

Meanwhile, the 5th gas unit of the thermal power plant will be launched by the end of 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2022).

The ‘Iran LNG’ TPP is being built to supply electricity to the LNG plant of the Iran Liquefied Natural Gas Company.

In total, the power plant will have 5 gas units with a generation capacity of 162-megawatt each and 2 steam units with a generation capacity of 160-megawatt each.

In addition, a 400-kilovolt substation is being built at the thermal power plant. Through the substation, all units of ‘Iran LNG’ TPP will be connected to the country's electricity network.

‘Iran LNG’ TPP is being built by Iran's MAPNA Group.
