BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 26. Electricity generation of Iran’s Manjil Wind Power Plant in the Gilan Province (northern Iran) increased by 21 percent, in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2022), compared to the first month (March 21 through April 20), an official of Gilan Regional Electric Company (GILREC), Mohsen Babazadeh said, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Energy Ministry.
Over the second month, the power plant generated about 7,800 megawatt-hours of electricity.
Iran's Manjil Wind Power Plant was put into operation in 1994 with the installation of 1 turbine with a capacity to generate 500 kilowatt-hours of electricity. The power has separate facilities in 4 counties.
The Manjil Wind Power Plant is the largest and first wind power plant in Iran with a capacity to generate 92.2 megawatt-hours of electricity. The power has 300 kilowatt-hour, 500 kilowatt-hour, 550 kilowatt-hour and 650 kilowatt-hour turbines.
