BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 3. Norwegian Equinor company shares its experience with Azerbaijan in reducing carbon emissions. Vice President Exploration and Production International in Equinor and Country Manager - Equinor Azerbaijan Stig Åtland told Trend.
"We are working with our partners at Azerbaijan’s Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) field to share all the knowledge that we have, including minimizing the burning of carbon dioxide, and optimizing production to this end," he said.
According to him, minimizing the carbon footprint (total greenhouse gas emissions) is a key element in Equinor's policy.
"We will strive for even greater development of ‘green’ energy," Åtland said.
Regarding the digitalization of the oil and gas sector, he said that Equinor is working with partner companies in this care, discussing ways of digitalization.
"It will be easier to create a new database when laying a new field. When you can start with a new set of data, it is easier to make it digital than to change the old data," he also added.
