BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 5. The 5th Refinery of Iran’s South Pars Gas Company (SPGC) produced about 726,000 tons (about 6.2 million barrels) of gas condensate, during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through June 21, 2022), Head of the 5th Refinery of the SPGC, Mohammad Shafi Moazzeni said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
In 3 months, the 5th Refinery also produced 566 tons of ethane and 27,200 tons of propane, the official said.
Shafi added that the company produced about 32,000 tons of butane and 11,300 tons of sulfur within the mentioned period.
The 5th gas refinery of the South Pars Gas Company processes gas and gas condensate transported from the 9th and 10th phases of the South Pars gas field. The refinery processes 56 million cubic meters of sweet gas, 80,000 barrels of gas condensate, 2,600 tons of ethane, 2,180 tons of propane, 1,250 tons of butane, and 240 tons of sulfur per day.
The South Pars gas field (called North Dome in Qatar) is a joint gas field of Iran and Qatar. The proven reserves of the South Pars Gas Field are estimated at 51 trillion cubic meters of gas, of which 36 trillion are extractable. Iran's share in the field is 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate.
