BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 26. Production volume of associated gas grew in May 2022 in Kazakhstan, Trend reports via the Bureau of National statistics under the Agency for Strategic planning and reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to the bureau, this figure amounted to 2.9 billion cubic meters, up by 6.4 percent in annual terms and 12.2 percent more than in April 2022.

From January through May 2022, production of associated gas in the country equaled 14.5 billion cubic meters, which is the growth of 8.6 percent compared to the same period last year.

Besides, according to the bureau, in May 2022, Kazakhstan imported 380.8 million cubic meters of associated gas, which is 42.9 percent more than in May 2021, but 30.4 percent less than in April 2022.

In the first five months of this year, the associated gas imports amounted to 3.4 billion cubic meters, down by 18.8 percent compared to 5M2021.

Kazakhstan exported 1.1 billion cubic meters of associated gas in May 2022, which is 15.7 percent less than in May 2021, but 16.9 percent more than in April 2022.

The country’s associated gas exports amounted to 6.08 billion cubic meters from January through May 2022, which is 20.1 percent less than the same period last year.

A total of 2.1 billion cubic meters of associated gas were sold on the local market of Kazakhstan in May 2022, which is 31.8 percent more than in May 2021, but 0.9 percent less than in April 2022.

Kazakhstan’s local gas sales amounted to 11.8 billion cubic meters from January through May 2022, which is 18.8 percent more than in the same period last year, added to the bureau.
