BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 20. The volume of crude oil transportation to Türkiye via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline stood at 18.441 million barrels in August 2022, as compared to 18.967 million barrels in the same period in 2021 (down by 2.77 percent), Trend reports citing Türkiye’s BOTAS company.

The country imported 144.074 million barrels via BTC from January through August 2022, 9.1 percent more than 132.052 million barrels in the same period in 2021.

Türkiye’s oil imports via BTC stood at 200.149 million barrels in 2021, versus 208.064 million barrels in 2020.

During 2021, the highest volume of oil transportation to Turkey via BTC was recorded in January with 18.967 million barrels, while the lowest level was observed in February with 14.537 million barrels.

The BTC pipeline currently carries mainly ACG crude oil and Shah Deniz condensate from Azerbaijan. In addition, other volumes of crude oil and condensate continue to be transported via BTC, including volumes from Turkmenistan, Russia and Kazakhstan.

The BTC Co. shareholders are: BP (30.1 percent); AzBTC (25 percent); MOL (replaced Chevron as of 16 April 2020 (8.9 percent); Equinor (8.71 percent); TPAO (6.53 percent).
