BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. Azerbaijan’s gas production stood at 34.4 billion cubic meters from January through September 2022, 8.6 percent or 2.7 billion cubic meters more year-on-year, Trend reports October 14 with reference to the country’s energy ministry.

Reportedly, Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) and Shah Deniz fields produced 200 billion cubic meters and around 176 billion cubic meters, respectively since start until October 1. About 122.6 billion cubic meters of Shah Deniz gas went to export.

Azerbaijan has produced 34.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas from January through September 2022. ACG produced 10 billion cubic meters, while 18.5 billion cubic meters accounted for Shah Deniz. Around 5.9 billion cubic meters of gas was produced by Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR.

The supply of Azerbaijani gas to Europe through the Southern Gas Corridor began on December 31, 2020. Azerbaijan exported its natural gas to the European market through pipelines for the first time in history.

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) which is the European part of the Southern Gas Corridor, annually supplies eight billion cubic meters of gas to Italy and one billion cubic meters of gas to Greece and Bulgaria.
