TEHRAN, Iran, November 2. Iran Oil Ministry seeks to increase the expansion of strategic cooperation between Iranian and Russian companies and organizations in the energy sector, said Iran Minister of Petroleum Javad Owji, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Speaking at the 16th Iran Russia joint economic commission, Owji noted efforts to promote joint economic projects based on the mutual interests of the two countries.
Iran’s Oil Ministry will use its power to pursue the agreements between the two countries and its agenda is to accelerate the implementation of agreements, remove obstacles and define new activities, he said.
Owji underlined Iran and Russia had prepared several cooperation documents to increase ties that will be signed on the sidelined of the joint economic commission meeting.
According to the minister, establishing banking cooperation, facilitating investment and trade, gas swap, development of Iran’s gas and crude oil export, Russia’s investment in Iran’s oil industry, and development of the International North South Transportation Corridor are part of cooperation that needs to be activated.
