BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb.27. STAR oil refinery of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR in Türkiye imported 792 435 tons of crude oil in December 2022, compared to 907 761 tons in the same period in 2021, showing a 12.7 percent decrease, Trend reports with reference to the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).
The EPDK report shows that during this period, the refinery produced more than 42 tons of 95 octane unleaded gasoline, 660,784 tons of diesel fuel, 22,183 tons of aviation fuel, 14,978 tons of other intermediate products, 125,999 tons of other products, 7,720 tons of heavy vacuum gas oil, 13,198 tons of liquefied petroleum gas, 135,843 tons of naphtha, 70,335 tons of petroleum coke and 45,853 tons of refinery gas.
STAR Refinery, with investment value of $6.3 billion came on stream in October 2018. Around $3.3 billion of the project’s cost was covered by loans. The total investment in Star Refinery is expected to stand at $7 billion.
The annual processing capacity of STAR Refinery is 10 million tons. It meets around 25 percent of Türkiye’s refined oil products. The refinery is able to process 214,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
