BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 2. The value of total sales at the Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX) increased by 182 percent, during the current Iranian week (February 25 through March 1, 2023), compared to the previous week (February 18 through February 22, 2023), Trend reports citing the IRENEX.

In total, the value of sales at the IRENEX for the current week amounted to approximately 39.5 trillion rials (about $102 million).

Meanwhile, the figure stood at approximately 14 trillion rials (about $45.6 million) from February 18 through February 22, 2023.

In total, more than 196,000 tons of hydrocarbon products worth 36.9 trillion rials (about $95.1 million) were sold at the Iran Energy Exchange within the current week, which is an increase of 265 percent in value and 259 percent in volume compared to the previous week.

Of that, 23.8 trillion rials (about $61.3 million) worth of products were sold on the domestic floor, while 13.1 trillion rials (about $33.8 million) worth - on the international floor of the IRENEX.

Moreover, 24.4 million kilowatt-hours of electricity worth approximately 19.4 billion rials (about $49,800) were sold at the country’s energy exchange within the mentioned period.

At the same time, Standard Parallel Salaf (Islamic contract, similar to futures) documents worth 2.55 trillion rials (about $6.57 million) were also sold at the energy exchange.

The products at Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX) are sold under the SANA exchange rate.

The SANA system is a system introduced by the Central Bank of Iran to the currency exchange offices, where the price of 1 euro is 414,443 rials, and the price of $1 is 388,233 rials.
