BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 4. The value of total sales at the Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX) amounted to approximately 1.42 quadrillion rials (about $3.53 billion), over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Trend reports citing the IRENEX.
About 7.29 million tons of hydrocarbon products worth 1.26 quadrillion rials (about $3.13 billion) were sold at the Iran Energy Exchange within the last Iranian year, which accounted for 89 percent of total sales at the IRENEX.
Of that, approximately 402 trillion rials (about $1 billion) worth of products were sold on the domestic floor, while 858 trillion rials (about $2.13 billion) worth - on the international floor of the IRENEX.
The main hydrocarbon products sold at the IRENEX for the last Iranian year were light naphtha, gas condensate, iso recycle, heavy naphtha and white oil, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), distillation tower residue, etc.
Also, 7.56 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity worth approximately 5.26 trillion rials (about $13 million) were sold at the country’s energy exchange within the mentioned period.
At the same time, Standard Parallel Salaf (Islamic contract, similar to futures) documents worth about 153 trillion rials (about $380 million) were also sold at the energy exchange.
Along with all these, 100,321 certificates of deposit for crude oil and gas condensate worth 2.53 trillion rials (about $6.3 million) were sold at the Iran Energy Exchange over the last Iranian year.
The products at Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX) are sold under the SANA exchange rate.
The SANA system is a system introduced by the Central Bank of Iran to the currency exchange offices, where the price of 1 euro is 437,778 rials, and the price of $1 is 402,000 rials.
Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX) was established in 2012. The exchange is considered one of the main centers for the sale of hydrocarbon products in Iran.
