SOCAR’s revenues from gas sales surge

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 27. The revenues of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR from gas sales stood at 17.762 billion manats ($10.4 billion) in 2022, as compared to 7.074 billion manats ($4.2 billion) in 2021, Trend reports.

As such, the company’s gas revenues rose by 2.5 times year-on-year.

Total revenues of SOCAR in 2022 amounted to 119.228 billion manats ($70.134 billion) versus 77.531 billion manats ($45.6 billion) in 2021.

SOCAR produced 8.1 billion cubic meters of gas from the independently operated fields or as the main shareholder in 2022.

Compared to the corresponding period of 2021, natural gas production recorded a 2.7 percent increase. The gas production across the country continued to creep upward and reached 46.7 billion cubic meters, a 6.6 percent increase compared to 2021.

The export of natural gas across the country increased by 19.3 percent to 22.4 billion cubic meters.

Azerbaijan exports natural gas to Europe via the Southern Gas Corridor. The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), the last segment of the Corridor, has a capacity to transport 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year, expandable to 20 billion cubic meters.
