AZPETROL TRANSFERS 183BN AZM TO PUBLIC BUDGET IN 2004

In 2004 Azerbaijani oil company Azpetrol transferred 113bn manats for goods purchased from suppliers and 70,830m manats of taxes and payments to the public budget, Husseynaga Rahimov, the head of the Azpetrol, stated to a briefing on July 15.

The total sum of payments and taxes in 2004 was 183,930m manats ($38,234,000). The company invested 121,270m manats ($25,220,000) on economy of the country.

According to Rahimov, the company will open two refueling stations in Ganja and put into exploitation 9 filling stations constructed in accordance with world standards.

In accordance with the contract, signed with Exxon Azerbaijan in October 2005, Azertrans will transport the oil of ExxonMobile from the �Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli’ oil field to the Georgian port of Batumi within 5 years.

Under investment agreement signed with the government of Moldova in December 2004, Azpetrol will implement many projects in Moldova such as construction of the international port on the River Dunay, terminal Jurjulesht, an oil refinery plant and 50 filling stations.
