(РљР°vkaz -Press) вЂ" Putting into operation the Baku-Tbilisi-Erserum gas pipeline will not solve the problem of the gas supply in Georgia. The volume of gas to remain in Georgia for transportation through its territory is not sufficient to meet the demands fully, the Ministry of Energy Nika Gilauri said today after the government’s meeting.

According to him, only 5 % of the transported gas will remain to Georgia and 5% more it might buy at the preferential price of $55 per cubic meter. Gilauri noted, the largest volume of the natural gas - 850 million cu m Georgia will be able to get only in 2011, however, even now the country’s yearly demands are 1,2 million cu m.

В"We are currently negotiating with the Azerbaijani side on increase of the Georgia’s share for the gas transit”, Gilauri said.
