Arrears of gas consumers in Baku comprised 650 billion manats or $141.3 million. 298 billion manats fell to the people receiving benefits, Nusrat Gasimov, the deputy chief of the Bakgaz production association (PA), told Trend.
“The Bakgaz collected 30% of the cost of the supplied gas. It takes some measures to increase the collection of money, but does not achieve considerable results,” he noted.
The arrears accumulated during previous years and 7 months of 2005. The amount of arrears will increase in winter.
The arrears of consumers to the Bakgaz over 2004 exceed 371 billion manats with 134 billion manats of population’s arrears.
