“AZERBAIJAN, KAZAKHSTAN TO HOLD NEXT ROUND OF NEGOTIATIONS ON BTC ON 21-23 SEP,” NATIG ALIYEV

The Azerbaijan notified Kazakhstan about the holding of the next meeting on the designing of the intergovernmental agreement on the joint oil transportation via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, Natig Aliyev, the head of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, also Director General of the BTC Co, told Trend in an exclusive interview.

According to Aliyev, the meeting was earlier envisaged to be held in Kazakhstan on 15 September, but it was delayed due to the schedule. Aliyev did not exclude that the forthcoming round would be the final meeting on the designing of the intergovernmental agreement.

The shareholders of the Kashagan project undertook to transport 7.5m tons oil via the BTC from 2008 to 2009. The capacity of the pipeline comprises 50m tons oil per year.
