AROUND 3M BARRELS OF OIL REQUIRED FOR FULFILLMENT OF BTC FROM ENTRANCE FLANGE

Some 2.9 million barrels of oil is required for the fulfillment of section of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) main oil pipeline from the entrance flange of oil pipeline in Sangachal to the second pump station in Georgia, BTC Co. pipeline company told Trend.

BTC Co said that the fulfillment of the pipeline section from the first pump station in Georgia in the direction to the second continued till the end of September. Touching upon the work done in Turkey the pipeline company said that the first oil consignment entered the Ceyhan port and was shipped from the tanker to one of the oil reservoirs.

The oil consignment of Azeri Light was delivered to Ceyhan early September from the Georgian Black sea port of Supsa for testing the terminal and fulfillment of the BTC.

The tanker with 600,000 barrels of oil was purchased by BTC Co from the partners in the Azerbaijan International Operating Company, which lifts oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli field. The cost of the oil consignment was calculated on the base of average monthly quotes of Platts set for Azeri Light.

As part of BTC Co (AzBTC Co - 25%), Azerbaijan has not presented money for purchase of 600,000 barrels of oil from the AIOC, while it allocated oil for accumulation of the oil batch in accordance with its share.

An opening ceremony of the Georgian section of the pipeline is scheduled for 12 October.
