BARMEK AZERBAIJAN MAY NOT CONSTRUCT KHACHMAZ-YALAMA ELECTRICITY TRANSMISSION LINE

“Barmek Azerbaijan may not to construct the 110KV Khachmaz-Yalama electricity transmission line можеС' for development of energy supply of northeastern regions.

If Azerenerji constructs a 330/110KV substation in Khachmaz soon, there is no need in electricity transmission line,” Omar Guner, the adviser to the President of Barmek Azerbaijan. “We will be able to provide our subscribers with energy by the substation. We have constructed and commissioned the 36-km 110KV Khazri-Siyazan electricity transmission line with 36 km length in early September. It was build in compliance with world standards,” Gunder said.

The length of the line will comprise 20 km, the value - $800,000.

Azerenerji intends to start the construction of the 330/110KV substation in Khachmaz in 2006.

On 1 September Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani president, approved the agreement on credit extension by the Islam Development Bank for construction of the substation in Khachmaz. The Azerbaijani Parliament approved receiving of the credit for the project at the plenary session on 1 September. The project will allow the Company to improve energy supply of northern regions of the country, where 500,000 people live. The Islam Development Bank granted the $13,508m credit for 12 years at 6% annual rate.
