BTC PIPELINE FILLED BY NEARLY 30% WITH TECHNICAL OIL

The BTC Co pipeline company goes on to fill up the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline with the technical oil. For today 29 % from the total needed crude volume has been pumped to the pipeline, namely, 396,500 tons of the Azeri Light brand, which constitutes 2,9 million barrels of crude, the BTC C told Tend. 10 million of oil is required for filling up the pipeline.

The first oil arrived to the Ceyhan port in early September and was loaded from the tanker to one of the oil farms. This consignment of the Azeri Light brand was delivered to Ceyhan in the first 10 days from the Georgian Black Sea port Supsa for testing the terminal and filling the part of the BTC pipeline. The oil batch of 600,000 barrels was purchased by the BTC Co from partners of the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC), which produces oil at the Azeri-Chirag -Gyuneshli oil field. The cost of this consignment has been calculated based on the average monthly quotation Platts for Azeri Light.
