USAID WILL HOLD CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO HEAT SUPPLY PROBLEMS

The US International Agency for Development (USAID) plans to hold an international conference in Baku on 20-21 October 2005 dedicated to the problems of heat supply, a working group member of the project “Technical Assistance to Energy Sector of Azerbaijan”, funded by USAID, Ilgam Mirzaliyev told Trend.

According to him, the international conference is planned on 20 October dedicated to
the novelties in the field of low-power heat generating markets and technologies. On 21 October there will be a conference on institutional reforms in heat sector of the former USSR.

Mirzaliyev noted, the goal of the events is familiarization of the relevant state agencies of Azerbaijan and specialists in the heat supply sector with innovations in existing markets and technologies, the institutional reforms held in this field in other countries.

Experts of the World Bank, from France, Lithuania, Belgium, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Ukraine, Poland, Russia and other countries will take part I the event. Involvement of the Minister of Industry and Energy Medjid Kerimov is expected in the conference opening.
