Module power stations to be connected to newly-established energy system

“The module power stations constructing in the regions of Azerbaijan will be connected
to newly-established energy system,” Etibar Pirverdiyev, the President of Azerenerji, told Trend.

Azerbaijani AZENCO builds module power stations in Astara, Shaki and Khachmaz. The 10-module Astara power station will came as the first one of the 52 stations to be commissioned from 2005-2006. The total capacity of the stations will comprise from 450 to 460 MW. Azerenerji plans to construct 12 stations in Baku, while the number of new stations in Nakhchivan, Shaki and Khachmaz will make up 30.

Pirverdiyev noted that 11KV substation is supposed to be built near every module station. New power stations will not be connected to the old system. “Modern substations will be connected to energy blocs through new lines. We will also construct gas lines to provide the module stations with natural gas,” he stressed.
