SOCAR produced about 755,000 tons oil in Jan

In January 2006 the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produced 754.9m tons oil from the onshore and offshore fields of the country, or 8,300 tons less as compared 2005, the Company told Trend. The oil and gas production units (OGPU) of SOCAR produced totally 7,700 tons oil, or 1.1%) less as compared 2004.

In January the foreign companies within the joint ventures (JV) and operating companies (OC) producing carbohydrates from onshore fields with participation of SOCAR produced 86,600 tons oil, or 0,600 tons (0.7%) more as compared 2005.

According to SOCAR, in 2006 the total gas production in Azerbaijan comprised 531.3bn cu m, or 107.1m cu m (25.2%) more as compared 2004. The oil and gas production units of SOCAR produced 330bn tons gas, or 3.8m cu m more as compared 2005. In this period JV and OC produced 9.8m cu m gas, or 1.5m cu m less than 2005. In 2005 the Azerbaijani International operating Company (AIOC) produced 191.5bn cu m associated gas, or 104.8m cu m more as compared 2005.
