Рњirvari Gahramanli: Employees of Rigblast Energy Services returned to their jobs

About 80 employees of the Rigblast Energy Services Company held a strike. They claimed to ensure the 20% wages increase, the decision of which was taken late last year and payment of bonuses for the Azeri project performing, the head of the Committee on oil workers rights protection, Mirvari Gahramanli told Trend.

The decision to raise the wages by 20%, payment of bonuses and the 12% indexing at the start of the year has been taken in regard to all sub-contractors of the Р'Р  company (operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Gyuneshli (ACG), after McDermott workerss strike. However, according to the Rigblast employees (also BP subcontractor), these decisions have been fulfilled only partly. The companys workers only have been indexed 12%.

As Gahramanli noted, the companys workers have currently come back to their jobs after achieving the accord with the companys management. Particularly, they have been proposed to raise tariff rates for the work.

According to the head of the committee, strikes like todays were held also in other companies of sub-contractors Kentek Caspian Ltd. and PCH Offshore. Along with this, according to her, after the strike 28 persons have been fired during January from the McDermott Company.

The head of the Trade Unions Republican Committee of oil and gas industry workers Djahangir Aliyev told Trend, during the talks with the BP management spokesmen it had been noted the salary raise is defined for all enterprises, the BP contractors.
