Modular electrical power station in Astara to generate up to 700,000 kWt/h power a year

The modular electrical power station commissioned on 3 February 2006 in Astara district of Azerbaijan by the capacity of 90 MWt, is capable to generate annually up to 700,000 kWt/h. It will enable to meet the demands of the Astara, Lyankaran, Lerik, Yardimli and Masalli districts in electrical power, the report of the Azerenerji press service reads, according to Trend.

As the report notes, Wartsila, a general contractor on constructing the modular power stations in Azerbaijan, will hold special news conference in Helsinki, during which the local and foreign journalists, accredited at the Finlands Foreign Ministry will be told in detail on the construction process of the first modular electrical power station in Azerbaijan and the tempos of the construction. The power station has been erected in the record short time.

The company is currently is engaged in constructing similar power stations in Sheki and Hachmaz districts of Azerbaijan.
