All expenses and risks on construction and exploitation of necessary infrastructure for establishment of efficient work of the Aktau-Baku corridor for export of Kazakh oil to world oil market via the territory of Azerbaijan will be undertaken by the companies which posses the crude. The ideas were sounded by the independent Azerbaijani experts in the sphere of oil transportation. Owners of oil the companies Total, Eni, ConocoPhillips, and Inpex have considerable experience in shipment of crude. The establishment of the Aktau-Baku corridor will particularly require the construction of tankers with the deadweight of 63,000 tons, remote piers and coastal terminal.

According to experts, Azerbaijan along with receiving direct incomes from oil pumping tariffs, will also have indirect benefits from the project. It will particularly conclude payments for exploitation of large-cargo tankers, including, fueling and other necessary materials, crew hiring, the experts state.

30 tankers with the deadweight of 13,000 tons will be required for the transportation of 25 million tons of oil a year. Besides, the exploitation expenses needed for transportation of every ton of crude through use of such tankers will be considerably higher than the tankers with the deadweight of 63,000 tons, which envisage the use of member-companies of the project on oil transit from Kashagan field via Azerbaijan, the experts underscored.
