РђIOC to launch second well on West Azeri

The second well on the Azeri field western part is supposed to be launched in late February, the BP Azerbaijan company, operating the Azeri-Chirag-Gyuneshli (ACG) oil fields development told Trend .

The oil on this part of the field is currently produced only from one well. Extracting started in January 2006, several months earlier of the supposed dates.

With the commissioning of the Western Azeri platform and start of drilling on the Central Azeri the production volume from ACG is expected at the level of 458,000 barrels daily. From the 2006 total production amount, 19.000 barrels are supposed to be extracted on Shah-Deniz (condensate) field. 318,00 barrels a day will be produced on Chirag, 226,000 barrels on Central Azeri and 75.000 barrels a day on Western Azeri.
