Experts of the World Bank are preparing to start work over the program on collection of low-pressure gas from the Shallow-Water Guneshli field, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) told Trend. In the near future it is planned to establish an expert group on the project. The program is implemented at the expenses of the WBs $481,250 grant. The capital for the implementation of the project was allocated by the Japanese government. In the near future there will be established a working group charged in designing the program.

Under the agreement with the WB there will be designed a program on utilization of gas to exclude its wasting into the air. In accordance with the program, it is planned to construct a gas compression station in the vacant platform Gunashli 4. The station will enable to increase the low-pressure gas and transport it to the coast. The construction of the gas compression on Gunashli field will enable to lift from the field 4.9 billion cu m of gas a year till 2010. At present this figure is equal to 2.2 billon cu m of gas a year.

Today 1.6 million cu m of low-pressure gas is launched to air from the Shallow-water Gunashli field and approximately 800,000 cu m from Chirag field.
