Natik Aliyev: Рђzerbaijan to reduce sharply oil export to Novorossiysk by increasing tariffs for pumping

Рђzerbaijan will reduce sharply the oil export through Baku-Novorosiysk pipeline (northern route) in case the Russian В"Рўransneft will suggest to raise tariffs for pumping of 1 ton of crude, the Azerbaijan Minister of Industry and Energy Natik Aliyev told Trend.

According to him, the existing prices for pumping one ton oil through the northern pipeline ($15,67/t.) suit Azerbaijan today. В"In case tariffs rise it will not be profitable for us to transport oil through this pipe, all the more we expect commissioning of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline in the shortest time, the Minister indicated.

According to Aliyev, it is needed first to establish the Oil Quality Bank in Novorossiysk. The point is Azerbaijan pumps the quality oil through the pipeline and sells from Novorossiysk more sulphury URALS brand which affects the oil price.

В"It is important for us to receive the adequate quantity of oil volumes while handing over the quality oil, Aliyev said.
