Azerbaijan Government approved fuel and energy balance for 2006

The Azerbaijan Cabinet of Ministers approved the countrys fuel and energy balance, prepared by the Ministry of Industry and Energy, the Ministry has told Trend. Changes related to the gas volumes have been introduced into the balance.

The volume of the gas produced in Azerbaijan in 2006 was supposed at the level of 5 billion 914 million cubic meters. In the balance endorsed the gas volume was specified at the level of 7,3 million cubic meters (without gas imported from Russia ). This volume has been defined after negotiations with the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC). It has been decided that AIOC will deliver 3,3 billion cubic meters of gas from the Azeri-Chirag-Gyuneshli(ACG) and the Shah-Deniz gas condensate field, which production will start late this year. The volume of the gas imported from Russia is supposed at the level of 4,5 billion cubic meters at the price of $110 per 1000 cubic meters.

Under the forecast for this year the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will produce about 8 million 750,000 tons of oil on the fields under development. The volume of the electrical power to be generated in the country during this year is supposed at the level of 24 billion 360 million kWt/h. The volume of the electrical power import in 2006 will make up 2 billion 750 million kWt/h.
