Commencement of drilling from в"–1887 platform planned for year-end
The start of drilling and producing from the в"-1887 platform to be mounted on the Neft Dashlari (Oily Rocks) field is expected at the year-end, the Azerbaijan Ministry of Industry and Energy told Trend.
The first phase of the production commencement from the platform is expected soon. The Azneft Producing Unit on extracting oil and gas under the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is going to connect four wells drilled on this part of the field with the platform foot and begin production.
Each of the four existing wells has a daily production rate of about 25-30 tons. 32 wells of 2000-2200 m depth are supposed to be drilled from the new platform during the entire operational period. Each wells yield is expected to be around 50-60 tons of oil daily. Drilling from the new platform will be during 4-5 years. Production from the Neft Dashlari oil filed is planned to be increased from 2300 tons to 2450 tons daily during the first operational year.
The "Neft Dashlari field has been developed since 1949. Over 173 million tons oil has been produced during the entire operational period from the Neft Dashlari and the Mud volcano fields. To-date the daily production from 460 operation wells is about 2300 tons of oil. The residual stores of the field are estimated as 30 million tons.
