The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) announced tender for sale of the tanker cargo profit oil from the Black Sea port of Batumi. The tender has been announced for marketing of 80,000 tons of the Azeri Light brand oil (600,000 barrels) produced at the Azeri-Chirag-Gyuneshli (ACG) block field, SOCAR has told Trend.
The oil shipment is expected on 31 March 1 April 2006 from Batumi. Close of the tender is scheduled for 9 March.
The Batumi oil terminal is capable to handle up to 15 million tons of bulk oil cargo a year. The terminal services tankers of 30,000-90,000 tons deadweight on four berths including a special buoy for the vessels of the Aframax class. At the moment the terminals tank park capacity is about 530,000 tons, which is more than enough for handling of current and forecasted cargoes going through the corridor.
