Georgia can refuse from purchase of Russian gas in favor of Azerbaijani one, if the latter is sold at lower price. This version is possible, if the price of Azerbaijani gas is lower than Russian one, Zurab Gumberidze, the Georgian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, told Trend.
The negotiations on acquisition of additional amount of gas from Azerbaijan are suspended. Georgia will resume the negotiations as soon as existence of additional amounts of gas is approved within implementation of the first stage of the project on Shah Daniz gas-condensate field.
According to Gumberidze, Georgia made application for acquisition of additional amount of gas. Tbilisi is ready to acquire additionally from 1bn to 2bn cu m of gas. The same time the price is under discussion.
