Int'l symposium on energy efficiency & long-term development due in Baku

An international symposium on energy efficiency and long-term development will be held by the UN Economic and Social Work Department in Baku from 28 to 30 March. The gathering will be staged at the initiative of the Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Ministry.

The ecologic state of the Caspian Sea is in the center of attention not only of the Caspian countries, but big international organizations, Trend reports referring to a news release by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR). The issues are supposed to be discussed during the forthcoming symposium.

Attending the event will be Energy Ministers of the most of the Caspian countries, the representatives of the UN secretariat, international bodies and finance organizations, donor countries, embassies accredited in Azerbaijan, foreign and local companies in energy sector, including SOCAR.

The subject of the symposium will be achievement of the Caspian countries in oil and gas production, as well as technologies applied for these purposes. During the event the representatives of SOCAR will deliver reports on application of effective and ecological technologies, including, increase of efficiency in energy supply system.
