Illegal connection up the Baku-Supsa pipeline, transporting Azeri Light oil extracting from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field, has been registered in Georgia.
The horse patrol ensuring safety of the pipeline revealed some amount of oil in one of irrigation channels near the Tsilkani village, Mtskhetsky region, Georgia, on Sunday, the press service of BP, the operator of the pipeline, told Trend. This oil spill was liquidated. Today our specialists revealed illegal incut in the pipeline, which served to theft of oil, BP stressed.
According to Georgian media, the police have detained several suspected people to interrogate them. Criminal case has been filed.
