SOCAR announces tender to sell oil in Batumi

The State Oil Company (SOCAR) has announced a tender to sell a tanker load of the lucrative oil from the Black Sea Georgian port Batumi. The tender includes sell of 80,000 tons (600,000 barrels) of Azeri Light oil extracted from the Azeri-Chiraq- Guneshli, the SOCAR told Trend. The tanker will be unloaded on April 30- May 1.

The tender will be closed on April 12. The previous similar tender winner was German company Select Energy Trading.

The Batumi oil terminal is capable of unloading up to 15m tons of oil products a year. The terminal serves tankers with 30-90,000 tons of dead weight in the four havens, including the remote buoy for Aframax class vessels. The reservoir park of the terminal now has the capacity of 530,000 tons, which is more than enough for current and expected capacities.
