Batumi terminal increases oil deliveries in 1Q

Oil terminal at the Batumi port of the Georgian section of the Black Sea has increased crude oil delivery from the Caspian fields and oil products in the 1st quarter of 2006 from 1,745 million to 3,132 million tons to in 2005, a source at the oil transportation market told Trend.

Over the past year the terminal increased delivery of crude and oil products from 6,732 million to 9,699 million in 2004.

In March 2006 delivery of oil and oil products made up 1,205 million tons against in 744,400 in March 2005.

The Batumi terminal is owned by Petrotrans company, which was founded in July 2004 and is part of Greenoak Holdings holding.

Oil and oil products enter the Batumi port via railway from the neighboring Azerbaijan, as well as Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
